Today, Max and I had the opportunity to attend a dance recital in Antigua with the family that we know who lives here. Their daughter Lucia was performing and her little brother Andreus wanted to help out during their performance. Then afterwards, we had a nice lunch out in the garden area of the dance school while the children enjoyed a pinata. Max just sat back and took it all in (just give him a year and he will be joining in on the pinata fun!). Then in the afternoon, we were surprised by a Chicago visitor (Uncle Tony) who was here visiting his family that lives nearby. Max loved hanging out with Tony and I have been enjoying some home cooked meals from Tony's mother. The caring support we have received from family and friends is so very appreciated - we are very grateful.
As most of you know, we have been waiting WAY too long to bring our sweet Maxito home from Guatemala. Due to unforeseen delays we have decided to begin the next leg of our adoption journey in Antigua, Guatemala. At the end of November 2007, I will be staying down in Guatemala until our adoption is finalized. Around the same time, Max will also have his first birthday (hooray)! We are so excited and so anxious all at the same time.
We hope you enjoy our 'snapshots' highlighting our journey at finally become a true family!
